Careers & Spreading Cheer



Garcia students and staff helped spread holiday cheer to our furry friends at Prairie Paws.

Marshall Santa for Soldiers
Marshall Leadership Academy students and staff sent about 20 boxes of goods in a drive called Santa for Soldiers to oversees troops. This project was lead by the counselor Mrs. JimĂ©nez and Ms. Flores, 1st grade teacher.


GPISD Students Give Back to Animals and the Elderly



3rd graders at GFAA held a Towels for Tails drive to collect towels for the animals at Prairie Paws.


Eisenhower KC Club
Eisenhower KC Club members and mentors make jingle necklaces for several nursing homes and senior centers. The Eisenhower Show Choir will deliver them when they go sing at the nursing homes and senior centers.

Kindness & College



GPFAA Kindness Week
GPFAA’s secretary Mrs. McNeff, Vocal Music student Jaylon, and Assistant Principal Mr. Lopez were caught being kind by GPFAA’s counseling team during Kindness Week. Way to be great examples for us all.

Florence Hill Gives

Florence Hill Elementary and the Florence Hill Student Council/KC Club would like to thank Santa Cop and Santa Spot for the opportunity to help families in our community. We had a successful food drive and toy drive. Also, we would like to thank the police officers, volunteers, and community members for all that they do for our families in Grand Prairie.

GPFAA Visits UT
High school art strand students from GPFAA are enjoying their college tour during Fine Arts Week. Yesterday, they got to stop by UT.

Dubiski Friends of Rachel’s Club

During Kindness Week, the Friends of Rachel’s Club at Dubiski joined forces with the 9th grade AVID class and participated in arts and crafts activities with Marshall Elementary kindergarten classes.

Cause for Paws at Lee

Kindness Club from Lee Elementary show cooperation as they team up to support the City of Grand Prairie animal shelter with much needed items.


Holiday Cheer

GPFAA’s counselors had a blast helping out at Santa Cop last night.


De Zavala Toy Drive
De Zavala’s KC Club sponsored our first toy drive, and it was a big success. All of the toys were donated to the district’s Connections Program. Our students were excited to share toys with others.

Powell Santa Cop
The Colin Powell Student Council sold gourmet popcorn so they could go to Walmart and buy $600 worth of gifts for teenagers donated to Santa Cop. A big shout out to the awesome Walmart employees that were so patient and kind. Thank you Powell family for helping us achieve our goal.

Moore Holiday Cheer

Sallye Moore students and staff brought holiday cheer to residents at Mt. Creek Retirement Center as they sang Christmas carols and gave gifts of socks and Christmas cards to the residents.


Santa Cop


GPISD Counseling Services partnered with the Grand Prairie Police & Fire Departments to provide holiday gifts and food to GPISD families in need. Special thank you to Detective Wester aka our Santa Cop and his team for all their hard work as well as all GPISD Counselors for identifying the needy families at each school and volunteering their time for this special evening event.

SGP Kindness Week
The SGP counseling team is promoting Kindness Week with Post-It Notes on all the mirrors around the campus with words of kindness and affirmation on them. They want students to take them and share them with others to spread a little love and kindness before the holidays.



Garcia Muffins with Moms

Garcia Elementary showed lots of love to moms. Muffins with Moms was a huge success. Garcia staff served muffins to 280 moms while they participated in a presentation given by our All-Pro Dads. Woo-Hoo, Toros!

GPFAA kids sure know how to give back. Thank you to everyone who has donated to make another child's Christmas special. Today is the last day to donate to Santa Cop.

Rayburn Determination

Twenty-eight students at Rayburn STEAM Academy got to eat lunch on stage with their counselor, Mrs. Maples. Students were recognized for showing the character trait Determination in the month of November.

Austin Canned Food Drive

For its November Rachel’s Challenge project, Austin Elementary’s Leadership through Kindness Club held a canned food drive in support of Noche de Navidad, and collected over 400 items. Mrs. Rivers, our counselor, is very grateful to the Austin family for its support in helping families in need during this holiday season.

Jackson Compassion In Action
Jackson’s Rachel’s Challenge Club, Compassion In Action (CIA), organized a food drive contest for their peers. They received hundreds of donations that will benefit several local families during this holiday season. Kindness counts at Jackson.

Adams Turkey Giveaway
Counselors Johnson and Soliz coordinated a turkey giveaway at Adams. Dominic Rhodes and Rhodes to Success, and United Realty gave 33 turkeys to needy families for Thanksgiving.

SGPHS Promotes GPISD Choices
SGPHS CTE counselor Citlali Molina, AP Rachel Simmons, and freshman counselors Amber Moffitt and Stacy Parker-Brown presented CTE opportunities and pathway choices available to incoming high school students in GPISD this week to eighth graders. Special shout-out to the Jackson 8th grade English department and students for being an outstanding audience.

GPFAA Kindness
The GPFAA Friends of Rachel Club decorated the patient doors at Heritage of Turner Park Nursing Home on Tuesday as a random act of kindness. The counselors and students hope to inspire others as the holiday break approaches.
