The counselor Tonya Womack Campbell and parent liaison Rosanelda Foo at wonderful Williams Elementary School kicked off the school year with a volunteer orientation. Volunteers received information on how to help students and the community be successful. Nutrition information was presented, and school procedures were given. Joining volunteers were principal Ami Potts, assistant principal Priscilla Zepeda, and secretary Dora Trevino.

Rachel's Challenge and Kindness Week Kick off
NED comes to Moseley Elementary to help kick off Rachel's Challenge and Kindness Week.
Ms. Price's third grade class wears blue to represent peace during Kindness Week at Moseley.
Rachel's Challenge at Eisenhower
All our scholars at Eisenhower Elementary participated in our Rachel's Challenge Kick Off last Friday. Our Eisenhower Cougars do love our Random Acts of Kindness Bingo and our contagious kindness song and dance.

GPHS Counselors Tuesday Talk
GPHS counselors are in the cafeteria every second Tuesday of the month. This Tuesday we spoke to students about the following:
1. How to request eTranscripts on Career Cruising for the colleges/universities that they want to attend.
2. Promoted the GPISD College Night event coming up on September 22 at SGPHS.
3. Promoted our Rachel’s Challenge Club.
4. Promoted our new club, New Beginnings, a club that provides student mentors for our new-to-the-country students.

GPHS and IMPACT
GPHS counselors and GPISD joined together with the City of Grand Prairie #BeTheIMPACT. The City of Grand Prairie's IMPACT team, which promotes drug and alcohol prevention and other responsible lifestyle choices, met with students during lunch periods at the IMPACT table. IMPACT is promoting their public service announcement film project that will be shown at the GP vs SGP football game September 30.

Eisenhower Parent Volunteers
Our parents love what we do so much they are willing to volunteer their time to support our scholars at Eisenhower Elementary. This morning the School Counselor, Diana Ham, presented our Volunteer Kick Off Training at the Eisenhower. Volunteers learned about safety, confidentiality and how to be a role model for our Eisenhower Cougars.
School for the Highly Gifted Anti-Bullying Awareness
The School for the Highly Gifted counselor and students get an early start on anti-bullying awareness by making Acts of Kindness pamphlets and creating their own kindness logos.

GPISD Honored for Keep Texas Beautiful
The GPISD April Month of Service was presented with the Honorable Mention for the Keep Texas Beautiful Sadie Ray Graff Educator and Institution Award at the city council meeting, Tuesday, September 6. The Sadie Ray Graff Award recognizes those in the field of education who encourage or demonstrate efforts to promote the KTB mission through environmental education.
Receiving the award are Brenda Townsend, NSEC Program Coordinator; Cheryl Golden and Dana Jackson, GPISD Counseling Services; and Amanda Linbergh, Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful. Cheri Reynolds Howard, KTB Board member, presented the award and Ron Jensen, Mayor of Grand Prairie, congratulated the award recipients.

Reagan Introductions
Reagan counselors enthusiastically introduced themselves to their students and shared all the great things the counseling department has to offer in the coming school year.
