GPISD Giving

The GPFAA Kindness Club spent time at a local nursing home spreading holiday cheer.  They decorated cookies and sang with the residents.  Thank you to Ms. Alex Anderson, school social worker, for coordinating the trip.

SGPHS Reasons to Live For activity was a success during Tribe this week. Suicide awareness continues to be an important focus for our campus. Thank you, counseling service team.

Florence Hill Counselor Megan Hay organized a peer-to-peer career fair. Our fourth and fifth graders presented to our kinder-third graders about future careers. Our students did a wonderful job.

At Austin Environmental Science Academy, students and staff participated and won the Bullying Challenge video for the District.  The counseling department delivered a delicious breakfast to the winning participants.
SGPHS was able to provide “Big Ol’ Baskets” to several of our families thanks to the donations of various SGP student groups and organizations. Very proud of our Warriors coming together to help during this holiday season.
GPHS Gophers packed Turner Gym for the Miles for Smiles fundraising pep rally last week. Staff played basketball against students along with special performances from the Geepettes, cheerleaders and guests. It was a beautiful show of unity. Not only did the Gophers raise over seven thousand dollars for a wonderful cause, but students of all abilities interacted in a way many of them had not experienced before. As Helen Keller said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Proud of our Gopher Nation!

Kids presented their careers at Florence Hill and they did great.
