SGP Scholarships

SGP seniors Triniti Tanner and Angela Ogero at the Empower Me tour were awarded scholarships totaling $40,000 from Texas Southern University.

Crosswinds Adopt-A-Street

Crosswinds High School Green and Clean committee members helped clean up the community yesterday with Adopt-A-Street on Carrier Parkway. 

Dickinson PACT Meeting

Our Pre-K parents and students enjoyed our first PACT meeting. Thanks go to Mrs. Baldwin, Counselor Rivers and Liaison Wolters for a job well done.

Powell Santa Cop

The students and staff at Colin Powell brought gifts to donate to Santa Cop this holiday season.  Counselor Kelley Meeks is Palomino Proud of the generosity shown by the staff and students.

September & October Girl of the Month

On December 2, 2017, our local Grand Prairie Soroptimist Club honored our September and October Girl of the Month.  A great time was had by both parents and students.  A huge thanks to the ladies of the Soroptimist Club for their dedication to GPISD.  Students in attendance were: Indrana Basu, Miranda Alvarado, Kaila Collins, Emmalyn Esparza, Ariel Hagenbeck, Allysonn Jackson, Madison Lindley and Emily Pant

Crosswinds staff and their Handprints on Hearts mentees participated in the December Handprints on Hearts activity.

GPCI, The Tuskegee Airmen & Ms. Jackson

The Red Tail Squadron, an organization whose mission is to pay tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen and motivate students to soar above adversity, gave a powerful presentation at GPCI. Dana Jackson is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University.

GPCI Premiere Night

Premiere night at GPCI was a success. The objective of this event is to provide a showcase of GPCI to perspective scholars and parents. Some of the highlights were presentations from the Red Tail squadron, National History Day display, robotics demonstration, and Project AirGPCI. 

Counselors' Rock!!

The counselors and main office staff at GPFAA packed the Toys for Tots donations. Thanks to all who participated.

SGP Warrior/Angel Tree

SGPHS counselors proudly supporting Warrior/Angel Tree this holiday season. Thank you, Miss Anderson, for all of your hard work with this program.

Dubiski Women in Charge Conference

The Dubiski Friends of Rachel's Club and counselors supported the 1st Women in Charge conference that was held at Dubiski. The F.O.R. Club donated a gift basket to be raffled during the conference.

Blood Drive at GPCI

Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute had their first blood drive organized by two scholars Jesus Vacio and Sam Safaei. They had a great turn out and members of school counselor Mrs. Swanigan's Community Service Club volunteered as well.

GPISD Counselors Helping Students & Families

Daniels Works On Cooperation

Mrs. Mays, school counselor of David Daniel Elementary, works with students on the character trait of the month, which is cooperation. Students work together to see which group can build the tallest and most stable tower while working together effectively.

Johnson Canned Food Drive

Johnson had 350 canned items turned in to help with the overall food drive that supports the Noche de Navidad program that will assist 200+ families in our district this holiday season. Johnson is a small campus, and although some students brought more than others, we averaged almost four cans per student. Giving back to help others is always a good thing.

St. John Church Helps Eisenhower Families
Christmas assistance from St. John Unleashed's parishioners helped Eisenhower families. Counselor Juan Perez greatly appreciates our St. John Church's parishioners for their generosity on Saturday with our community by distributing Christmas assistance to so many Eisenhower families.

GPISD Counselors ROCK!!

Bonham's school counselor and family engagement specialist donate can goods to a local church.

Garcia had a successful GenTX Week. Students participated in dress-up days and career exploration activities.

GPFAA Rachel's Club

The GPFAA Rachel's Club decorated the patient doors at Heritage Nursing Home as a random act of kindness.  The students and counselor Laura Mungia had an amazing time.

Bonham Food Drive

The counselor at Bonham organizes a food drive that lead to an amazing turnout, thanks to students, parents and staff.

Garner College and Career Readiness

Garner counselors Lewis and Moon promote college and career readiness with college t-shirt days, peer-to-peer career fairs, and more activities for students to explore and enjoy.

Eisenhower Peer to Peer Career Day
Eisenhower had an outstanding Peer to Peer Career Day. 5th grade students presented to grades kindergarten to 4th. The students discussed their future careers of being an animal trainer, biologist, allergist, doctor, astronaut, pathologist, veterinarian, fashion retailer, wood installer, demolition expert, and of course numerous teachers. This is only a small list of the wonderful career goals that our excellent Eisenhower Cougars are working towards. The students were awarded with certificates and gift cards to Chick-fil-A or Golden Corral for sharing their knowledge with other students and staff.

GPCI at UNT Dallas
GPCI scholars worked with UNT Dallas advisor Mr. Wilhite and school counselor Mrs. Swanigan on registration for spring classes. Scholars were so excited about the many college courses to choose from at the university.

Popcorn Party Winners at De Zavala
Ms. Harris' 1st grade class collected 99 food items for De Zavala's Feeding the Community food drive, which were donated to the Grand Prairie Food and Clothing Co-Op. They were rewarded with a popcorn party by the counselors Mrs. Glover and Ms. McGriff.

The Woods at Moseley
Moseley's principal Tuyet Huynh and counselor Beverly Green welcome school supply donations from The Woods United Methodist Church.

Whitt 5th Grade Parent Night

Counselor Tamara Collins and 5th grade teacher Monica Ramirez had a great time talking to 5th grade parents at Whitt Fine Arts Academy about the transition of the children to middle school in the fall and all of the amazing choices GPISD offers.

Moseley College and Career

Moseley's counselor Beverly Green reinforces the importance of college and career readiness with monthly bulletin board reminders.


Eisenhower Food Drive
