Fannin staff are super excited about Formal Monday. Fannin Wolves STAND UP and dress up to show that we are drug free and our future is key.

Reagan Blooms with Kindness 
Part of Reagan Middle School's month-long Anti-Bully campaign, the counselors asked students to write an act of kindness done to them from another student on a heart to make our Kindness Tree bloom.

YWLA Compliment Circle 
Mrs. Lynd's 6th grade reading class ventured outside to form a Compliment Circle. Students practiced giving and receiving compliments in an effort to prevent bullying and build a positive classroom community.

Williams Mismatch Day
In honor of Red Ribbon Week, Wonderful Williams says "Don't Get Mixed Up in Drugs"  Students and staff wore mixed match clothing to remind others to stay clear of drugs.  

Bush celebrates Red Ribbon Week

In recognition of National Red Ribbon Week, our faculty and staff at the Global Leadership Academy at Barbara Bush wear red to show we are ready to take a stand against drugs. "Respect Yourself-Be Drug Free"

De Zavala Pink Out
The counselors, students, and staff at De Zavala chose to Pink Out for Kindness on Friday in support of Bullying Prevention Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Staff members who participated were awarded attendance points for "attending" to the day.

Red Ribbon Week & More



Truman students and staff members volunteer at World Vision to help them prepare for future relief efforts benefiting those affected by the hurricanes.

Red Ribbon Festival
Counselors at the Red Ribbon Festival greeted many students and their families as they received a wealth of information on how to live a healthy and drug-free life.



Kindness at Moseley
This is what kindness looks like in action at Moseley Elementary. After one student had become upset about something, another student asked him to sit with him and share his book even though they did not know each other well. Ms. Green, our school counselor, has been teaching and modeling lessons about kindness to the entire school, and it's paying off.

Bully Talk at Garner
Dr. Judy Flury from All Star Kids Karate talked to all 1,000 students at GFAA about bullying. She covered reporting vs. tattling, what to do if you're being bullied, and ways we can be kind to one another. Thank you, Dr. Flury.

Gearing Up for Red Ribbon Week
Sallye Moore College and Career Prep Academy's 6th graders, with help from the art teacher Mrs. Leslie Desmarais and the counselor Mrs. Shannon Neal, created a wall mural to show the students' dedication to this year's theme: "Your Future is Key, so Stay Drug Free."

SGP Mentors Moseley
Moseley's counselor would like to thank volunteers from South Grand Prairie High School for paying it forward and mentoring students at Moseley Elementary.

GPCI Red Ribbon Week
GPCI kicked off Red Ribbon Week by having a special assembly with guest speaker Mr. Johnson, the District Drug Prevention Counselor. He talked about the consequences of using drugs and the importance of staying drug free.

School for the Highly Gifted - Red Out/Pink Out Day
SHG staff and students kicked off Red Ribbon Week by wearing red or pink. Red is to represent a drug-free lifestyle, and pink is to show support for all who have been affected by breast cancer. Here at SHG, we are committed to staying drug free.

Moore Shows Kindness

In an effort to show kindness, Sallye Moore's community engagement liaison, Maggie Wolters, and school counselor, Shannon Neal, partnered with the local YMCA to provide assistance to victims of the recent hurricanes. Items collected include non-perishable food items, diapers, wipes, and personal hygiene products. All donations will be delivered to the YMCA. Moseley Kindness Week

Moseley Elementary art students, with the help of visual arts specialist Ms. Bishop and her UTA student teacher Ms. Martinez, kicked off Kindness Week early on Friday by creating giant collage worlds with painted paper to show that "Kindness is contagious!" They pledge to show kindness everywhere. These collaborative collages are displayed around the school as reminders to be kind. Ms. Green, Moseley's school counselor, is helping the teachers and students find ways to incorporate discussions about kindness in all subject areas this week.

Eisenhower Volunteers

Eisenhower Elementary administrators, counselors, parent liaison, and PTA joined together to speak to prospective volunteers. There was a great turnout and some even received assistance in completing their online application immediately following the meeting. We are excited about all the volunteers that came out to learn about volunteering at our school. 

School for the Highly Gifted Dabbing for Kindness

SHG school counselor and students discussed anti-bullying and acts of kindness during guidance lessons. In addition to promoting the T.A.L.K. (Try A Little Kindness) Challenge of the Month - Compliments, students "Dabbed for Kindness."

Dubiski Meets the CIA
Exciting things are happening at Dubiski. The counselors partnered with their pathway students and teachers and invited The Culinary Institute of America and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science to inform students about college and career options.

Guidance lessons with the focus of bullying continues at TWLA as the counselors and the specials team join forces to ensure that all students understand the benefits of attending a bully-free school.

Moseley Parent Workshop
Moseley Elementary welcomed parents to our first parent workshop for the school year. The workshop addressed the topic of bullying and stressed the importance of students, parents, the community, and the school working together to recognize, report, and prevent bullying.

SGP Counselors at Homecoming Parade
SGPHS counselors had a wonderful time with its homecoming parade entry. We are working with our students as they go from "Cradle To Career."

Fannin students are showing their support to the families in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Florida and Houston by posting encouraging messages and adding their names to the Fannin Dedication Board.


Bowie is Bully-Free


The Bowie counselor promotes bully prevention by encouraging positive behaviors. The anti-bullying campaign ends with the Rangers Captain.

Counselor News



SHG school counselor, staff and students celebrate Bully Prevention & Awareness Month by wearing red to stop bullying.



SGP takes the Dallas County Promise Pledge.


Kindness Club together with their counselor Ms. Krystal Jones held a pep rally at Ochoa to promote bullying prevention.

GPFAA THINK

The GPFAA counselors are encouraging students to THINK before you post. There is a Twitter campaign this week using #THINK and the bulletin board at the front door is a reminder for everyone on campus.  

SGP Red Ribbon Speaker
The South Grand Prairie Counseling Department and Dallas Challenge hosted a "Red Ribbon" Pep Rally for students.  Motivational guest speakers Mr. Ricky Cheatham from R & DC, Inc. and dancers. 

Seguin Student of Character
Our student of character for the first 9 weeks is Tristan Callahan, a 4th grade student in Mrs. Laird's homeroom.  Tristan is always respectful, tries to make every choice a good one, and is loved by the staff and students at Seguin.  His teacher made this short video of his "big night," as he called it, and shared with the staff.  His entire family, the principal, the assistant principal, the counselor, icoach, and several teachers joined him at the Board meeting to watch as he accepted his award.
