GPISD Counselors ROCK!!



Dubiski counselor Melissa Hohnstreiter celebrates Jonathon Garcia's acceptance to Dallas Baptist University.




The GPFAA counselors kicked off Bully Prevention Month in the cafeteria. The students pledged to Take a stand, lend a hand.


Students and staff at De Zavala wore blue on Monday to support World Day of Bullying Prevention and to kick off Bullying Prevention Month.


Gophers take the pledge to stand against bullying.

Jackson Door Decorating

The counselors at Jackson kick off Bullying Prevention Month by hosting a Door Decorating Contest with their staff. They decorated their doors to give the students some inspiration.

Coping Skills at YWLA
YWLA students worked with counselor Rheatore Culclager during Suicide Prevention Week to discuss healthy coping skills. Students came up with a range of coping skills. They listed everything from listening to music to working in a garden. During lunch, students were able to post the coping skills they use on the Here Is How We Cope at YWLA board. 

Travis Bullying Prevention

Blue is the color of trust and peace, which signifies the importance of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. Counselors at TWLA hosted a Bullying Prevention workshop, educating parents on the many ways they could help their children be safe at school.


School for the Highly Gifted

SHG school counselor and students complete their September Acts of Kindness Challenge of giving compliments. These students won prizes for participating and recording their compliments to others. At SHG, we T.A.L.K. - Try A Little Kindness.

Moseley Kindness
Students and staff show that Kindness Is Contagious at Moseley Elementary by participating in kindness activities coordinated by Moseley's counselor Beverly Green. Students also pledged to make kindness a part of their everyday lives.

Rayburn Counselor Gets Props
Michelle Maples is loving what she does. She provides inspiration to counselors through her gift of art. Michelle is a wellness supporter in allowing counselors the gift of beautiful art and encouragement. Thanks Michelle for helping us stay positive and stay mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. 

Eisenhower Blue
The first Monday of each October is Blue Shirt Day - World Day of Bullying Prevention. This day signifies the importance of National Bullying Prevention and Awareness. Eisenhower Elementary celebrated by wearing our blue shirts.
