Career Day & Senior Breakfast

Reagan's 2nd Annual Career Day

Our Reagan Knights had a great time interviewing and visiting with the many presenters that stopped to share a wealth of knowledge about their careers.

GPFAA Senior Breakfast
The senior class was honored with breakfast before Decision Day at GPFAA. Our guest speaker Mr. John McGee of the Flippen Group encouraged students to pursue their dreams. We also had college representatives from UNT, UTA, UNT Dallas and Oklahoma City University. The counselors did an amazing job organizing this event and sent each student home with a gift basket for their dorm room.

Johnson Family Game Night

Johnson DAEP had a good time ending the year with a Family Game Night. We had a good turnout, and everyone had fun. Thanks to Grand Prairie IMPACT for sponsoring the event and providing the food and some of the games. Also, we love our banner and are excited about using it next year.

Whitt Job Shadowing Day

Even though our Job Shadowing Day was Tuesday, May 16, it is still leaving a lasting impression in the minds of many. Great job, Whitt FAA Job Shadowing recipients/staff.

School Counselors... Changing Lives Daily!

Eisenhower Job Shadowing

Williams World of Work

Wonderful Williams has completed their "World of Work" event. Students earned jobs through the interview and application process. Students came ready to get the job done, were serious, and were in their business attire. We had principals, nurses, librarians, counselors, office staff, and hall monitors.

Students were able win prizes such as bikes, mini refrigerators, printers, dorm and school supplies. We are so proud of all the seniors and excited about their bright future. Go Gophers!

Proud Counselor Shouting It Out

The counselor at Hobbs Williams would like to highlight Dana Jackson. She is the Director of Counseling Services for GPISD. She was honored this weekend by a local community organization (Armstrong AME Church.) They highlighted her as a community trailblazer, bringing new and innovative ideas, resources and people to directly impact the lives of our students and their families. Mrs. Jackson is an advocate for all those that support a student's mental, behavioral, physical and social well-being.

Like the popular song says, "I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson, I am for real."  You really and truly are a jewel to counseling services and GPISD. Other district supporters present were Patricia Calahan and Cheryl Golden.
