In honor of Red Ribbon Week, GPFAA teachers participate in dress up like a celebrity day. Indiana Jones is running from the boulder. We love teacher participation.

Bowie students definitely made a statement for Unity Day Wednesday by wearing orange to promote kindness, acceptance and a bully-free environment.

On Friday students and staff wore superhero shirts in support of Bullying Prevention Month. The theme was “We will take a stand and protect our students against bullying."

Clothes the Mouth of Bullies at De Zavala

"Clothes" the Mouths of Bullies. Students at Lorenzo De Zavala ESA are closing the mouths of bullies by donating clothes to the clinic. Our students and parents have been very generous with their donations. 

Bush Stops Bullying

The students at the Global Leadership Academy at Bush Elementary enjoy a visit from Bernie Ponzio and Cassidy to help illustrate the need to stop bullying on campus.  A big "Thank You” to them both for their message to our students. The students also signed a pledge to stop bullying.

GPFAA Spreads the Word
After their anti-bullying Lesson, conducted by the middle school counselor, two of our students at GPFAA decided to help spread the word to stop bullying by purchasing 200 Anti-Bullying bracelets. The bracelets were passed out to middle school students during lunch. We have amazing students at GPFAA.

Bonham Future Firefighters
Bonham Childcare Center kicked off Fire Prevention Week with a visit from the Grand Prairie Fire Department. The children enjoyed listening to the firefighters talk about the importance of fire safety and showing them the fire truck and firefighting equipment. 

Eisenhower Comrades
Our Cougar Comrades Week at excellent Eisenhower Elementary was a great opportunity to show how much we love what we do. Camaraderie was a great part of last week as we wore matching color shirts, wrote positive messages on Cougar Paws, and found our own comrade twin.

Marshall dressed in colors to show our feelings about bullying, based on the Inside Out movie characters.
Wear blue: “It’s sad when others are bullied.”
Wear purple: “Don’t be afraid and stand against bullying.”
Wear green: Show “Disgust” against bullying.

Hobbs Williams Gets Krunk
After working hard on nine weeks tests, students at wonderful Williams took a much-needed wellness break. Students and staff "Broke It Down" in the gym with PE teacher Lisa Ford-King and Stephanie Martinez. The party had special guests: Mrs. Ami Potts, the principal, was our DJ, secretary Dora Trevino was our hype woman, GT specialist Lauren Wirth got the crowd "krunk," receptionist Celine Baca showed the students how to "Lean and Dab," and counselor Tonya Womack Campbell photographed and snuck in some dance moves. We all may need some BENGAY tomorrow. Go, Wolves!

Austin Red Ribbon Prep

Austin Elementary students and counselor Mrs. Latavia Rivers decorate the campus with red ribbons to prepare for Red Ribbon Week.

Back the Blue Day at Fannin
Students created posters of encouragement for our district SRO's and Citizens on Patrol. Officers received bags filled with goodies, cards of inspiration, and notes of appreciation for all they do to keep us safe.

Lloyd Bachrach, a "differently abled" Olympian, inspires Garner students to overcome adversity and go for their dreams in an Anti-Bullying assembly.

Dubiski Accepts Challenge
October is bullying prevention and awareness month. The Dubiski counselors and the Friends of Rachel’s Club accepted the challenge to stand up and be kind to others. #Challenge accepted

GP ECHS Kindness
K-i-n-d-n-e-s-s spells Kindness. The Kindness Movement has begun at GP ECHS. All hands are on deck for the Kindness Movement.

Bullying Prevention is FUN!

Williams Bullying Prevention
Wonderful Williams Elementary showed their support of bullying prevention. Williams showed that they Stand Tall Against Bullies. Staff and students did some serious boot scootin' around the campus. Even our medical boots limped and rolled through the halls to show their support.

Johnson HEROs
Johnson DAEP is teaching our students to be H.E.R.O.s (Helps, Encourages, and Respect Others) as part of our Rachel's Kindness Challenge. Students and staff had fun dressing up in their superhero t-shirts today as a reminder to show respect and empathy to others.

SGP Walktober

This past Saturday the SGP counseling office enjoyed the cooler weather while supporting each other in wellness during Walktober and participated in the Lake Joe Pool Pumpkin Run at Lynn Creek Park. The pancakes and bacon at the end were a plus, too.

Random Acts of Kindness Bingo at Eisenhower

Our kind scholars love what they do when they demonstrated kindness and compassion acts at Eisenhower Elementary. Once we completed our BINGO, students enjoyed a social breakfast, sharing with each other their awesome kindness certificates.

Whitt Bully Free
Counselor Smith and her specialty program captains conducted an essay forum called “Write” to a Bully-Free Campus.  Students wrote essays describing various ways to protect themselves against bullying. To end this awesome week, a special bullying and drug-free performance was creatively done by the fabulous fine arts department.

Johnson DAEP Bully Free
Thank you to Ray Lara from the Child's Advocacy Center who did a presentation on child abuse with our middle school students at Johnson as part of October bully prevention and domestic violence awareness month.

Austin Goodies With Gilliam

Austin hosts their first parent information session for the school year. Ms. Gilliam, our awesome principal, presented school updates and STAAR parent information. Ms. Mejia, assistant principal, and Mrs. Rodriguez, assistant principal intern, provided support for Spanish-speaking families. Mrs. Rivers, our counselor, provided homework tips, and our parent liaison Mrs. Clemmons talked about how to be a great volunteer.

GPFAA Anti-Bullying Week
The counselors at GPFAA have planned activities to promote Anti-Bullying Week. On Thursday, students showed their support for bullying prevention by performing songs, dances and poems during their lunch.

Crockett Kindness
A big thank you to all of our teachers and families for making our kindness week an especially meaningful one for our students. A big thanks to our families for making kindness a topic of conversation and action in their homes. And, a big thanks to our students for putting forth so much effort in thinking of others. 

Bowie Anti-Bullying Rally
A big thanks to our Bowie Elementary counselor Mrs. Howell. She and the KC Club members along with the Bowie Cheer Team put together a great anti-bullying rally. Our students left the rally chanting the following chant: Take a stand, Lend a hand, Stop bullying now.
