GP Pie When You Apply

GPHS counselors support the GPHS college and career readiness campaign Pie When You Apply, supporting and encouraging students with applications for both colleges/universities and scholarships.

Fifth Grade Presentations at De Zavala
The fifth graders of De Zavala researched their future careers and presented it to different third grade classes. The students did an awesome job.


De Zavala Food Drive
Volunteers from the Grand Prairie Food & Clothing Co-Op picked up 29 full boxes of food items from De Zavala. Our Feeding the Community food drive, sponsored by KC Club, was successful, thanks to support from parents, students, and staff.

Fannin College Fair
This week at Fannin MS, the students are focused on their future plans for college and career. On Wednesday, the eighth grade AVID students hosted a student-led college fair for all sixth graders. Many new dreams and goals were set.


Powell Students Give Back

Powell Elementary counselor Kelley Meeks partnered with the Grand Prairie Fire Department to organize a campus-wide food drive. The food will benefit families in Grand Prairie through the Santa Spot organization. Our second graders were very excited to hear they brought in the largest amount of donations. We are Palomino Proud of our counselor, staff and students.

Bush Coffee and Conversation
The Global Leadership parents came out for Coffee and Conversation with the counselor and principal. It was an excellent opportunity to talk about the anti-bullying campaign and how to help struggling readers. We had a great turnout.

Fannin GenTX Week
Officers Hodges and Gonzales with the GP police department speak with Fannin seventh graders about perseverance and responsibility to achieve future goals for GenTX Week.
