Careers & Service Learning!

De Zavala Students Get Interviewed

These are just some of the many students that applied for our day of job shadowing at De Zavala. Students were interviewed by the professionals they would like to shadow for one day. Administrators, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and counselors interviewed students. Counselors Ms. McGriff and Mrs. Glover will be delivering letters to the students chosen for the day of shadowing. All of our students did great; it will be hard to choose.

GP ECHS Service Project
For April's service project, GP Early College High School participated in the annual Orphan Party, hosting children from Texas' Pythian House. The ECHS students and staff adopted 22-month-old Layla. The ECHS staff cast the vision for the party, and the students took hold of it in a major way. They purchased treats for Layla, decorated her table in her favorite character, Peppa Pig, and showered her with love and gifts.

The students of ECHS truly exemplified what it means to be leaders and experienced the joy of giving back to others. Many of them made plans to volunteer at the orphanage and now have a new passion of spreading love to all.
