GPISD Counselors ROCK!!!

The SGP counseling crew participated in the 5K run/walk at the Grand Prairie Main Street Festival last Saturday.

Dickinson Day of Service

Dickinson Elementary had their GPISD Day of Service on April 25. We picked up trash, painted the tops of our planting beds as well as some rocks for decoration. Everyone had a great time.

GPHS Community Service

GPHS Friends of Rachel Club and the counseling department completed their community service project Saturday, April 23, 2016, at GP. The teacher's lounge, known as the Gopher Hole, received a make-over. The purpose of the beautification project was intended to show appreciation to GPHS staff for all their dedication to the students in our community.

Florence Hill Principal for a Day

Florence Hill Elementary participated in Principal for a Day. The students had to complete an application and participate in an interview, after which three students were selected by a committee to be Principal for a Day. All three principals had the opportunity to lead the pride rally, do lunch/recess duty, and even pass out cupcakes to staff members who had perfect attendance for the month of March. Each principal also made a rule for the day which included extra recess for all students with teachers playing as well, no bullying, and give a hug to anyone who is upset. Each of the Principals for a Day did a great job.

Marshall Service Project

Marshall's STUCO, National Elementary Honor Society students and counselor Mrs. Jiménez cared for their school and the city of Grand Prairie through the service project, Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful. Mrs. Johnson (NEHS Coordinator) and Mrs. Head and Hulburt (STUCO) were a huge part of this project.

Lee's Day of Service

Lee’s KC Club and Green Club collaborated to help keep Lee green and clean for GPISD’s April Day of Service. The kids had fun as they learned and participated in helping the planet and keeping it clean.
