Career, College & Kindness

The GPFAA Counselors are working with current students to preregister for courses in Career Cruising.

Congratulations to Grand Prairie Collegiate Institute senior Makayla Dorrough. She was selected as one of the five winners of the Dallas Mavericks Black History Month Essay Challenge. She will be honored at a Mavericks game and take an all-expenses paid trip to Atlanta. The trip will include visits to historical civil rights sites and college visits to the top universities.

This week, Jackson’s principal and counselors are sponsoring an Acts of Kindness Challenge staff edition. Staff members that complete at least three of the acts listed will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Jackson staff lead by example. #BeKindGPISD #KindnessMattersatJMS

Florence Hill Counselor Megan Hay and the Kindness Crew wrote kind, encouraging statements on Starbucks sleeves. We  included #BeKindGPISD to help spread kindness in our community.

GPCI School Counselor Mrs. Swanigan and the Kindness Crew did an amazing job leading a lunch activity where scholars wrote kind messages to their friends and staff members.
