National School Counseling Week

National School Counseling Week

The American School Counselor Association's theme for the 2018-2019 school year revolves around school counselors being the stars. When you think of stars in the sky, they shine their brightest in the darkest of night. GPISD counselors would never wish for darkness to come, but we pride ourselves in being the brightest stars in times of trouble and distress. We work tirelessly to ensure that every student sees the light of love and acceptance from each one of us as we go about our day-to-day duties. And, in those times when trouble and sadness hit our district, we rally around our coworkers, teammates, and families.

Did You Know?
School counselors follow the Texas Education Agency's Guidelines to provide services under the four components of a Comprehensive Counseling Program. The four components include Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support (TEC 33.005).
