Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

TDVAM is a national effort supported by GPISD counselors to raise awareness about abuse in teen relationships and promote programs that prevent it.
Dating violence is more common than many people think. One in three teens in the U.S. will experience abuse by someone they are in a relationship with before they become adults. And nearly half (43%) of dating college women report experiencing violent and abusive dating behaviors. Help us spread awareness and stop dating abuse before it starts. To get help call 1.866.331.8453 or text loveis to 22522.

Jackson Teen Dating Violence Awareness

Jackson's students and staff wore orange to help the counselors promote Teen Dating Awareness and Prevention. Dandreon Gray from Helping Us Help Her was their guest speaker along with counselor Amber Moffitt to ensure students were educated on the topic, know the warning signs, and foster self esteem and self love.
